PIAZZA LUIGI TADDEI VIA CAI 33 6979 BRE SOPRA LUGANO 12 MAGGIO-18 GIUGNO, 2017
Transfiguration borrows its title from the very definition of itself from the Merriam-Webster dictionary; a. a change in form or appearance, b. an exalting, glorifying, or spiritual change.
In this inaugural exhibition, Switzerland-based American artist Bryn Migliore explores the entanglement of physical, perceptual and spiritual changes we undergo throughout the course of our lives. Inspired by meditation, "life events" and the path towards transcendence, Transfiguration is a part of her ongoing "Transformation" series which explores growth and change as part of the human condition. The birth of these works reaffirm the notion that these changes, in form, appearance, and spirituality are essential to the creative process.
Transfiguration on view at Via Cai 33, Bre Sopra Lugano from May 12 to June 18 by appointment, features new bronze sculptures and a selection of multimedia wall works from her "Transformation" series. Together, the works reflect on the dynamics of our ever-changing selves in our ever-changing society. This will be the first of many exhibitions to follow in this space.
Bryn Marie Migliore was born in 1980 in New Hampshire, United States and lives and works in Lugano, Switzerland since 2011. Her work has been included in various group shows in Boston, New York, and Switzerland.
